NAVIGATING THE ACCESSORY FORAMEN TRANSVERSARIUM: UNDERSTANDING ITS SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT

Mohammad Naeem , Professor, Department of Anatomy, Government Medical College Srinagar, J&K, India

Abstract

The accessory foramen transversarium (AFT) is a critical anatomical structure that has garnered increasing attention due to its clinical significance. This study aims to provide comprehensive osteological insights into the AFT and explore its clinical relevance. Through meticulous examination of skeletal specimens and radiographic imaging, various morphological characteristics and variations of the AFT were analyzed. Additionally, its implications in clinical practice, including potential implications for neurovascular structures, surgical interventions, and diagnostic imaging, were explored. This investigation sheds light on the intricate anatomy of the AFT and emphasizes its importance in clinical settings.
