CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF KIDNEY INJURY IN PATIENTS WITH SARS-COV2
Abstract
The first reports of clinical cases of kidney injury in patients with COVID-19 were published by Chinese clinicians in the early days of the disease pandemic. Statistics confirm that with COVID-19, kidney injury was noted in an average of 0.6-7.6% of cases. We analyzed the features of the clinical manifestation of kidney injury in 62 patients who had had SARS-CoV-2. The distribution of patients was carried out on the basis of a prospective targeted open-label randomized study. We have found that in patients who have had SARS-CoV2, the pathological process in the kidneys mainly proceeds according to the acute inflammatory type, characterized by the predominance of diffuse endocapillary exudation. In patients with long-term consequences of kidney injury after SARS-CoV2, diffuse endocapillary proliferation becomes prevalent, which after coronavirus endotheliitis can inevitably lead to the development of chronic renal failure.
